Re: [Wlo-devel] WLO Res folder

Hi Kevin - okay, thanks. I have subscribed to the mailing list... would you prefer I post my question there, so that it's recorded?
Yes, it is better to post on the list, so that other people can see the Q&A and not reask the same question.
We're using the Android SDK "ADT Bundle" which comes with Eclipse (found here: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html) , as we were told by someone here that the Android Studio caused many problems, since it's still in Beta. However, since you used it to develop WLO, it can't be all that bad!
We did not use Android studio but IntelliJ IDEA (Community edition, which is free for FOSS development).
How about my other query, related to the documents website, which is asking for a username/password? Would this site help us and if so, would you send credentials? I have just answered you in private. There is no doc yet. But if you would like to contribute by making the doc, it would be awesome (to me, it is the worst part of the developer job).
I reviewed almost all threads in the mailing list archives and didn't see very much, definitely nothing that applied to the above. I sent my questions to the list, as you said.
Yes, you are the first subscriber who is not working for the Ifremer or Code Lutin :) Best, Kevin
Best,
Chris

Hi Chris,
as I told you in my last mail, it would be better if you and your developper coworkers subscribe to the dev mailing list[1]. I will help you this time, but next time, I will not unless the mail is posted on the project mailing list.
We build the project with Maven, so you should launch the following command to generate the apk and deploy it on the device: mvn clean install android:deploy
I do not know which IDE you are using, but we (Tony and I, and wome other cowrokers) are using IntelliJ IDEA, and it is great with Android. You can also use Android Studio which is based on IDEA. I have not used Eclipse for a long time now, but last time I tried it was not that nice.
Regards
Kevin

Hi Kevin -
For some reason, our developer can't get the Res folder to regenerate properly. Would you be available to help get us going w/ the WLO source code?
I apologize for the request, but I'm hoping there's something obvious we're not understanding and that you'll be able to get us going quickly. We don't intend to bother you on an on-going basis.
Our developer is experienced in java development but is new to the Android APK and environment.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
